Separation / Concentration

Separation and concentration of minerals takes place after the ore is crushed, ground and classified into the particle size distribution required. Using different methods and specific properties of the minerals they are separated from the waste rock and concentrated.

Separation methods used are manual/electronic sorting, gravity/dense medium separtion, magnetic separation and froth flotation. Equipment such as sluices, spiral concentrators, shaking tables, jigs, centrifugal gravity concentrators, magnetic separators and flotation cells are commonly used.
