Laboratory / Pilot Plant Grinders
Smaller scale versions of most types of grinders are available for laboratory work or for sample processing pilot plants. Suitable for use in assay offices, metallurgical, soil and other commercial/industrial laboratories, this lab rated equipment is usually not designed for continuous operation. Most are hand fed small batches of samples, have low throughputs and must be hand unloaded. For companies wishing to construct a pilot plant to prove/test extraction methods there are larger models rated for continuous operation.
Typical types of laboratory and pilot plant grinders include vertical ball mills, disc mills and stirred media (attritor) mills.
