The event aims at drawing attention to the sustainability of the industrial mining projects, especially in the Amazon, which is the focus of discussions on development coupled with environmental responsibility.

The concern with sustainability has become imperative amongst the companies in this sector. The concept of sustainable development was born about 20 years and spread throughout the world from the RIO-92. Since the production processes in the mining industry are most often characterized by more intense interactions with the environment and the society, a long time ago this industry made its choice towards the sustainability of its operations, including social and environmental vectors in the formulation of projects.
